Gillette, creator of the safety razor in recent years
In 1903, King C. Gillette of the United States invented the double-edged razor, which evolved into the razor of today.
It was a novel idea to replace the blade with a new one when the sharpness of the blade deteriorated.
In 1895, the company invented a replaceable blade safety razor and began manufacturing and selling it in 1903.
