The company was founded in 1875 and is one of the oldest razor manufacturers in the world. The “Star Leather,” the first of its kind in the U.S., was an epoch-making product that won awards both in Japan and abroad for its superior design and manufacturing technology.
In later years, the company changed its name to Gem, Yankee, Everready, and produced many other famous products that became popular in Japan in the era of single-edged safety razors.
